new mexico: lowry pueblo

kiva

This kiva is quite large, and it is thought that the structures inside represent summer people and winter people.

entrance

Entrance to the interior of the pueblo is through this T-shaped doorway.

wall detail

Chacoan influences apparent here in the shaped-rock and mortar construction, with small stones set into the mortar. At Lowry Pueblo, however, there are many fewer of the small stones than what is found at Chaco or Salmon Ruins.
